A focus on scenes and comfort

As an architect, that means you can perfectly align the finishings and your other interior choices to one another.”

TIP: The four-fold push button is of huge interest aesthetically, as it groups 4 push buttons together into a single element, so you don't have too many of them, which can sometimes grate on the eye. 

“At our new home, we've deliberately invested in high-quality embedded lighting and the connection to Niko Home Control really makes this come into its own. So that gives you a synergy between design & innovation: the nice warm lighting on the one hand, and the technology behind Niko Home Control on the other, through which you can create a wow effect with one button. For example, we have an aperitif scene button that we use when it starts to get dark, which dims the lights in the living area slightly.” 

TIP: Use connected switching socket outlets to integrate free-standing lamps into your scene circuits too.

“Finally, I also find that the flexibility of Niko Home Control adds huge value. It's really great that all that smart technology is hidden in a very simple push button too. We can control our home with the physical switches and with the Niko Home app. Ideal for when my partner and I have already gone to bed and we want to switch our son's night-light on or off.” 

“It's perfectly possible to adjust certain settings in the Niko Home Control eco system later on too. So I might set up a new TV scene that turns off the lights near the TV at the push of a button. That way, there won't be any light reflecting on the TV screen and only a few atmosphere lights turn on a bit further in the kitchen, so it isn't totally dark. We're planning to connect our Sonos devices and solar panels to Niko Home Control as well.”

“One final aspect that I find important is innovation, and Niko is pretty advanced in that. For example, you can not only use the Digital black switches as a thermostat, but also turn on your scenes, set up your Sonos devices or control your sun blinds with them.”

“We've chosen Niko Pure steel champagne on the stucco walls, because the colour goes very nicely with them. The black rear makes the irregular shape of the shadow gap stand out less and gives you more of a floating effect – this solves the aesthetic problem that you'd otherwise have with rough walls.”

“Finally, the Niko Intense anthracite is on display in our showroom kitchen, seeming to blend into the wall, as it were, which is painted black.”
