Niko Home Control Energy - I want to turn on my washing machine etc. when the solar panels are working. But can that be done for an existing device too?

Thanks to Niko Home Control's Solar Mode, you are perfectly able to ensure that 1 or more devices are switched on when there is overproduction from the solar panels. However, not all devices are suited to this.

A handy test for finding out whether your existing washing machine is suited to this:

1. Configure the device and turn it on.
2. Once the device has been running for a little while, pull the washing machine's plug out of the socket outlet (i.e. do NOT turn off the device itself).
3. Wait a few minutes and then put the plug back in the socket outlet.
4. If the washing machine automatically continues with the program, then the machine is suitable for Niko Home Control's Solar Mode.
