Niko Home Control for traditional wiring - What is mesh networking?

Mesh networking is a feature that is supported by 230V Zigbee® devices to receive signals and spreading them out to other connected Zigbee® devices. This way, the wireless distance can be extended beyond 10 m and a robust and reliable wireless communication system can be established.


Only 230V powered Niko Zigbee devices support the mesh networking functionality.   
Energy-harvesting or battery-powered Zigbee® devices, such as the Zigbee® wireless motion detector (552-80401) or battery powered switches (552-720XX), act as end-point devices.
They cannot extend the wireless range and should be positioned maximum 10 meter from a 230V powered Zigbee® device.
