Dimming - Can I dim all lights?

No. Only dimmable light sources can be dimmed with a phase control dimmer. Always make sure that the luminaire or lamp is dimmable. Incandescent lamps and halogen lamps are always dimmable. When buying economy or LED lamps, you must check that they are dimmable. This is indicated on the packaging. Lamps that are not dimmable will not last as long when they are dimmed or would flash irregularly, or just won't light up at all. A few examples of how a dimmable lighting source is presented on the packaging is shown below.

When you have one or more DALI luminaires then they can be controlled via the NHC DALI2 addressable module, the broadcast module or via stand-alone DALI controls such as DALI rotary controls or DALI push button modules together with a DALI bus power unit, if needed.

Smart lighting systems based on Casambi® or Xicato® enabled luminaires, including Sylsmart®, AQSmart® and others can be operated wirelessly with the Bluetooth® battery-free Niko dimmer switch (360-21001). When you would like to dim EnOcean® based or KNX® lighting systems then you can control them wirelessly with the Niko EnOcean® battery-free dimmer switch (360-11001) and the Niko KNX® battery-free dimmer switch (360-31001).
