Dominique was immediately charmed by the authentic details in the townhouse: the mosaic floor in the hall, the marble, the wainscoting and the parquet floor. Despite the sorry state of the building, she decided to retain these natural elements and let them shine. “All over the house, there were still old switches and socket outlets from Niko, a brand one automatically associates with switching material. So, the unique beauty was preserved, but the ambience needed a complete transformation. “As soon as we could, we painted everything white. This immediately brought light and breathing space.” Bright colours and patterned wallpaper made way for white walls, natural flooring and neutral shades. “With our four children, life is already busy and lively enough. So, above all, I was keen to create a sense of tranquillity in our interior,” says Dominique.

For the new finishings, Dominique decided on Niko Pure steel champagne coated. “This colour looks peaceful and perfectly suits the personality of our home and the colours we have chosen.” In the kitchen especially, the switches and socket outlets make such a difference. “During our holiday, our previous contractor installed benchmark white finishings, but I wanted something that was more in harmony with the style of the room. Now, it's just perfect.”

With four children, comfort is not a luxury, it's a necessity. That's why, in addition to the Niko Pure finishings, Dominique also opted for smart Niko dimmers, connected to Philips Hue. “For us, it's handy that we can control the light with an app – simply from the sofa, or remotely.” Meanwhile, it remains tangible and intuitive for the children. “They can just press the switch.”
