Download and install the Niko Home app

Download the Niko Home app via Google Play or in the App Store.

Open the Niko Home app and log in with the same e-mail address that you used to register the wireless smart hub on https://mynikohomecontrol.niko.eu .
Tip: You can make optimal use of the Niko Home Control installation if you allow the app access to your location, use of mobile data and to send notifications.

If a new software version is available for the smart hub, the app will ask to perform the upgrade before you continue.
This upgrade can take up to 20 minutes.
If you choose to perform the upgrade later on, you can continue to command the installation, but will not be able to program.
Add the wireless switch

Navigate using the menu (≡) to Settings and click on Devices.

Select Switches from the list of devices that you can add.

Click on Add switch.

Confirm in which room the switch is located.
Choose an existing room or add a new one.

Press the control button of the switch quickly 3 times in a row in order to send a signal to the Niko Home app, allowing you to add a switch.

You are required to add the switches manually one by one. This may seem like hard work, but then you know exactly which switch you are adding and you can allocate an appropriate name in the app.
Note: You can choose on which control button you press.
This can take 3 minutes. Once the connection has been established you then go automatically to the next screen in the app.

Confirm whether you are using a switch with two or with four buttons.
Click on Done. The switch has now been added.

Give the switch a clear and appropriate name so that you can find it easily again later. To do so, click on the Pencil on the right. Next, click on Ready.

You will see a warning. That's because, in order to make the wireless switch work, you must program the button functions. To do so, please follow these instructions.

Click on Done. Your settings are then sent to the wireless smart hub.
This may take a few minutes. During this step your Niko Home Control installation may react more slowly than you are used to.
Program the wireless switch
Once you have connected the switch with the app to your Niko Home Control installation, you can start programming. You can give each button a different function .
You can set the wireless switch to command light points or socket outlets .
You can also program routines. These are the rules when setting up a range of actions. Find out in the app which routines are available. Here are some examples:
- You can program a control button to turn off all home lighting when you press this control button as you leave the home ('basic all-off').
- You can program presence simulation to act as if you are home and protect you from burglars.
- You can program scenes so that you can press a control button (or use the app) to make certain devices (such as lighting, roll-down shutters, sun blinds) simultaneously perform the required actions.
Give switches a function
You can now program a different function for each button such as switching a lamp on and off.
Note: you can also program other functions similarly, for example, switching a socket outlet on and off. To do so, use the instructions given later for the following button.

Use Command to navigate to the room in which the lamp that you wish to command with the wireless switch is located.
Example: You can place the wireless switch at the head of your bed allowing you to command the bedroom lighting from your bed as well.

Select the lamp by pressing and holding.

Click on the pencil top right. Then click on Devices.

Click on the pencil beside Is controlled by to modify the switches.

Select the correct button which from now on must (also) command this lamp.
Then click on Ready and finally on the
cross top right.
Your settings are sent to the wireless smart hub. This may take a few minutes .

You can now program a different function for the next button such as switching a socket outlet on and off.
Example: You can program the wireless switch to command a reading lamp that is connected to a connected switching socket outlet.

Select the device in that room (for example, the reading lamp) by pressing and holding.

Click on the pencil top right and then (on the black screen) on Devices.

Click on the pencil beside Is controlled by to modify the switches.

Select the right button which from now on must (also) command this socket outlet

Then click on Ready and finally on the
cross top right.
