RJ45 for Niko Rocker and Niko Toggle

Behind each sleek faceplate, you’ll find the same high-quality electrical mechanism we use in all of our RJ45 connections.

Niko offers both UTP (Unshielded Twisted Pair) and STP (Shielded Twisted Pair). Although both use an RJ45 connector, the connector itself may differ:

UTP with standard plastic connectors without shielding are sufficient for most installations:

• Home networks
• Office networks
• PoE devices (IP cameras, access points, etc.)
• Gigabit and 10 Gigabit Ethernet over typical distances

STP connectors have a metal shield that connects to the cable shielding and the grounded equipment.

Choose STP when cables run:

• Near power cables
• Near motors, VFDs, transformers, or industrial equipment
• In manufacturing environments
• In locations with significant radio-frequency interference
