Step 4

Loosen dimmer or switch

Warning: Before proceeding, check that there is no longer any voltage on this circuit.

identify which dimmer or switch will command the light point (this may comprise several lamps). First, unscrew the existing dimmer or switch from the flush-mounting box, without disconnecting the cabling.

Please note Here, you can see a push-button dimmer, however, you can loosen a dimmer with a rotary button in just the same way.

A

Loosen the central plate using a screwdriver.

B

Then remove the central plate and the finishing set from the wall.

Please note: This method only applies when removing Niko dimmers or switches with a square central plate (in the range since 2006).

C

Unscrew the existing dimmer (or switch) from the flush-mounting box and detach the dimmer from the wall without disconnecting the cabling.

  • Tip: Take a photo of the current cabling clearly showing which wire is connected to which clamp. As such, you can easily map out the current connection diagram.
