From Art Deco gem to charming family home
In Roeselare, Eline Rousseau, founder of the interior design platform Sundae, found the perfect base for her new home - and the third Sundae house. She was immediately taken by the 1938 Art Deco home with its unique facade, rounded arches and authentic entrance hall.
“We deliberately opted for a well thought-out renovation that retains the unique character of the property, while creating a contemporary living environment. Above all, it had to be a place where we could really come home."
"It is a home that suits our family perfectly both from a practical perspective and aesthetically. We love cosiness, balanced with order and peace. Every detail has been carefully considered; from the smart layout to the mood in each room."
An interior that exudes peace and softness
To be in keeping with the original Art Deco style, Eline opted for rounded shapes, natural materials and warm shades. That softness is reflected in every detail – also in the choice of Niko Intense switches.
"The Niko Intense white, dark brown coated and bronze coated switches complement the house's history perfectly. They are very subtle, yet the perfect finishing touch," explains Eline.
Where design and functionality intersect
Niko Home Control, dimmers and USB connections also feature in our home. “We really couldn't be without them. For instance, we adjust the lights according to each room, creating the right mood at all times. The USB connections are a small but smart addition, which we use on a daily basis.”
