Niko Home Control brochure for professionals
How to install Niko Home Control
-
Discuss your customer’s living and usage needs.
Together, determine which functions need to be controlled — lighting, shutters, curtains, heating, ventilation, … — and how: via a switch, sensor, app or screen.Let your customer define the basics, and think along.
Your customer indicates the essential needs. Propose additional options that increase comfort and efficiency, such as scenes, time schedules or energy management.Remove any doubt.
It’s often difficult to make all choices at once. Reassure your customer: as long as the basic installation is in place, extra functions can be added easily later. -
Mount the modules correctly in the distribution board.
Place the distribution board(s) and install the Niko Home Control modules according to the installation diagram. Always ensure correct and well‑organised wiring.Plan for future expansions.
Have you discussed expansion options with your customer? Then provide the necessary cabling and space now, so future additions can be integrated smoothly. -
Compose the configuration in the programming software.
Whether you do this before, during or after installation is up to you. In the Niko Home Control programming software, you define which functions are controlled by which control elements. This is also where you set up scenes, all‑off functions and energy management.Give your customer room for small adjustments.
After installation, your customer can adjust some general parameters in the Niko Home app without affecting your work. For example, changing a name or an icon — no PC required. -
Test the installation together with your customer.
Go through the agreed functionalities and check whether everything works as intended. This is also the moment to implement any small optimisations.Schedule a follow‑up appointment if needed.
Depending on the project, it may be useful to plan a follow‑up visit. After, for example, three months, your customer has enough experience with the installation and can better indicate which tweaks further improve comfort, safety and energy use.
