Dimming - Why is the power consumption (W) not important for LED lamps?

The power consumption for LED lamps is most definitely important, however it is much lower than with traditional lamps such as halogen and incandescent lamps. According to the tests which Niko ran in the past few years between LED lamps and dimmers, the voltage surges which were observed were too high from 10 pieces. This resulted in a negative effect on the life span of both the connected lamps and the dimmer. Due to the low power consumption of LED lamps, the maximum allowable power of 200 W is seldom reached.
