Dimming - How can I control a flush-mounting dimmer from several locations?
In addition to single-pole switches, a flush-mounting push button dimmer can also be used in two-way or intermediate switches.
This can be done by using an additional N/O push button (170-0000X). The phase is always used for this and the other cable is connected to the connection point on the dimmer (E or _|¯|_ ). It is possible to connect 30 additional control points to dim or switch the dimmable lamp on or off.
It is also possible to use flush-mounting rotary dimmers in single-pole, two-way or intermediate switches. For the universal rotary dimmer with standard PLC interference suppression 5-325W (310-0190X) a specific rotary button extension has been created (310-0200X). It is possible to connect 5 additional control points. For the universal rotary dimmer with standard PLC interference suppression 3-300 W (310-0390X), an additional N/O push button (170-0000X) can be used as an extension to switch the dimmable lamp on and off. With other rotary dimmers you need to use a two-way or intermediate switch on the second control point rather than a rotary button.
You can find further information and wiring diagrams in the manual of the dimmer in question on the Niko website.
