Energy-efficient living

Consume less, save more

You hear it all the time. We have to cut down on power consumption. But how can you do that? You can reduce energy consumption by using energy-efficient lamps or LEDs, or you can save energy by using motion detectors. An intelligent electrical installation can also help you reach this goal!

Know how much you consume

Niko Home Control gives you a precise overview of how much energy your family is consuming at any time of day. Your energy consumption (current and daily consumption, average consumption, consumption progression) can be read off per circuit from the eco-display. You can activate this precise monitor to actively save energy and avoid waste.

Replace incandescent lamps with energy-efficient LEDs

Incandescent lamps are real energy guzzlers. By replacing your current lighting with energy-efficient lamps, your energy bills decrease immediately. Niko has a push-button dimmer in its range that will dim low-energy lamps, such as economy, low-voltage halogen and halogen lamps (230V). Philips© has extensive range of dimmable LED fixtures that can also be dimmed with this switch.

Heat rooms only when necessary

Using zone heating can save energy, after all, each room is used at different times and in different ways. So, for example, the children's bedrooms can be heated between 5 and 8 o'clock in the evening during the week. And the bathroom only between 7 and 8 o'clock in the morning and 10 and 11 o'clock in the evening. Perfect control of the temperature in different rooms is a real help with your energy bill.

Do not leave the lights on when they are not needed

Motion detectors are an essential in rooms where the light sometimes remains on without being noticed such as in a storage room, walk-in closet or bathroom. Thanks to a motion detector, the light will only switch on when someone is present in the room and is never on when it is not needed. Motion detectors are also useful outdoors: you drive up the driveway and the light switches on. When there is no more movement in the garden, the garden lighting is automatically switched off.
